Alliance Française of Lusaka is part of a network of 1052 Alliances set up in 152 countries. Established in 1972, it is the most important of 5 Alliances  in Zambia and its action revolves around three major ideas which aim to implement

 * Promotion of French and  teaching of the French language (French as a foreign language and French for Specific Purposes). 
 
* Spreading of the francophone culture and  supporting  its dissemination in Zambia.

* Support of  Zambian Art and culture. 

* Coordination of Alliance Française network in Zambia. 

The Alliance Française of Lusaka, has a restaurant, a rich multimedia library containing more than 7000 books, magazines, audio and video recordings in French.
